Slow Cooker Pot Roast

And here's a way to use your freshly made dressing mixes .…

2 T oil
3 lb beef chuck roast
1 large onion,diced
1 1/2 T dry Italian salad dressing mix
2 T dry Ranch-style dressing mix
2 T Low Sodium Beef Bouillon
1 cn low sodium beef broth

Heat oil in a large skillet. Brown the roast on all sides in the hot oil. Place roast in slow cooker. In a small cup or bowl, mix together the Italian salad dressing mix, Ranch dressing mix, and bouillion. Sprinkle them evenly over the roast. Pour in the beef broth and add the chopped onion. Cover and cook on high 4 to 5 hours or low 8 to 10 hours. You can use the juices as is, or thicken with flour or cornstarch to make gravy.
