Showing You How To Give Up Sodium Without Giving Up Your Life
This is similar to the boxed rice pilaf mixes you can buy, except for the level of sodium in it. It goes well with fish, chicken or pork.
2 T Olive Oil
Sauté onion and garlic in oil until tender. Add rice and pasta and sauté about 2 minutes longer or until pasta is golden brown. Add water and spices, cover, reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes or until rice is tender. (If water is not all absorbed ... it will depend on the kind of pasta you use ... you may need to remove the lid the last five minutes.)
