Showing You How To Give Up Sodium Without Giving Up Your Life Onion Soup Mix Some of my recipes call for onion soup mix. I've used Goodman's Low Sodium Onion Soup Mix, which I find in the kosher foods section of my local Safeway. However the last time I looked for it there wasn't any there. I'm not sure if they are no longer stocking it or they were just out. You can easily make your own mix anyway. And it's even lower than the Goodman's in sodium. You can use this the same as you would a one serving envelope of one of the commercial brands (some brands make multiple servings per envelope). Mixed with a pint of sour cream, it makes a good low sodium dip. Make sure you read the sour cream labels though, the amount of sodium varies widely. The lowest I've seen is the Breakstone regular, with 10 mg per 2 tablespoons.
