Mexican Hamburger Rice Skillet


This is one of the Hamburger Helper-type skillet meals. Somehow, on Friday evening, I'm usually ready for something of fairly simple preparation, and this meets that criteria. (As far as the secondary considerations ... everyone thought it tasted pretty good too.)

1 lb Ground Beef
1 Onion,Chopped
1 c Rice
1/2 c Orzo,Or Other Small Pasta
1 cn No Salt Added Tomatoes
1 1/2 c Water
2 T Low Sodium Beef Bouillon
1 t Onion Powder
1/2 t Garlic Powder
1 t Parsley
1/4 t Black Pepper

Brown beef and onion in large skillet. Drain off any fat. Add remaining ingredients. Bring to boiling. Cover and reduce heat. Simmer 20 minutes or until rice is done and liquid is absorbed.
